GuruGraphix, Inc. was initally founded in 1996 to service the needs of individual companies searching for a cost-effective alternative to their over-priced and potentially under-qualified in-house art departments.

Kim Schramm, our Creative Director, has over 16 years of proven design and electonic pre-press experience. She began working with electronic media in 1988 at Homes and Living magazine. Employed as a typesetter for 7 in-house magazines, she learned the importance of getting the message across as quickly and concisely as possible. Her apprenticeship there also instilled the work ethics necessary to meet the tightest of deadlines.
During her time with H&L, Kim attended the Art Institute of Philadelphia, where she earned an Associates degree in Visual Communications, finishing near the top of her class.
Shortly after graduation, her aptitude for the new technology moved her into an educational role, teaching others Electronic Graphic Design and Pre-Press. As Trainer and Registrar at the Berkeley Desktop Publishing Institute, she worked with corporate groups from Chilton, TV Guide, Rhone-Poulenc and Rohr, as well as countless individual students. This is also where she had a brief stint on the Trade Show circuit, demonstrating the many benefits of electronic design to crowds in the early Nineties.
From Berkeley, she went on to work at both Lehigh Press Lithographers, as an Electronic Pre-Press Professional and then on to C.R.Waldman Communications as Electronic Pre-Press Manager, where she also maintained an expansive Novell network of over 100 combined computers in both Mac and PC environments.
After eight solid years of teaching and preparing other designers’ work for press, it was now time for Kim to venture out on her own. Hence the inception of GuruGraphix - a corporate name derived from the graphic design and technical ventures of days past.
The GuruGraphix of today has been blessed with many, many long and short-term clients that have brought us this far. It is with great admiration and respect we thank all those we have known and worked with along the way as we say "Welcome" to those yet to come!
